![]() But it didn't have me keep coming back and I stalled on it within a few days. I really enjoyed playing this trippy platformer. Seems to have quite a bit of depth to it but I just haven't taken to it yet. I've had it for a good while but haven't even touched the surface with my few runs really. Vagante - If I'm not mistaken, pretty similar to Caveblazers. Full controller support.Ĭrypt Of The Necrodancer - Was also mentioned already, but again I highly recommend it. Someone else suggested it already though so I'll just leave you with my high recommendation. Spelunky - Absolutely love this, a real gem. I must admit I still haven't completed the campaign but boy I've had a lot of fun with Brigador, be sure to check it out!Ĭaveblazers - Haven't played much of this one but it's pretty highly rated and has full controller support. The campaign, though long, is really a big-ass tutorial which prepares you for what's to come. Depends on how much loot your looking to grab.īrigador: Up-Armored Edition - Isometric cyber-punk mech roguelite which has a campaign to complete as well as it's randomized survival mode. You have quite a lot of freedom with customizability, meaning you can go in as a glass cannon or a true tank. The weapons all feel unique in themselves, in the way that they feel and the way you use them against your foes. Randomized spaceship breacher, where each ship has a randomly generated interior & security modules which you must disable before destroying the core. But in this you fall down a well into increasingly difficult levels, using your "gunboots" to not only control your fall, but to kill baddies on the way down too :)Ĭryptark - This one is tough, but feels awesome on controller. Same as Dead Cells, has tight and precise controls and is at heart a platformer. If you survive with the cells.ĭownwell - Not much depth to this one, but it's great as one of those games you play for 30 minutes every now and again. Has lots of replayability too, due to the fact that in each run you have a chance at unlocking more items for future runs. So they're probably not all technically true "roguelike" but here goes,ĭead Cells - While probably "roguelite" this game feels so damn good with a controller, perfect mix of platforming and randomized brutal runs. Rested warriors can receive various bonuses, while tired warriors will be able to count on penalties that reduce their effectiveness. Here are some from my "rogueish" category in my Steam library. You should also pay attention to the fatigue level of your characters. The game itself is not excessively demanding, but one should bear in mind that on hard difficulty level our every defeat requires us to start the game from scratch. Battles require a tactical approach and wise character development. The gameplay mechanics are a mix of turn-based strategy, cRPG and roguelike. During our expedition we also use class skills (for example archer, sorcerer or scout), collect the necessary resources, acquire useful equipment, advance our companions and use the available potions - all to survive and save the king before the time runs out. The battlefields are covered in hexagonal fields. We control nine mercenaries and lead them against wild animals, bandits, and sinister knights. Our task is to restore the former glory of this land, freeing the ruler from the hands of the wicked prince and stopping the evil spreading everywhere. After the king was kidnapped, the world plunged into darkness and disorder. PlotĬrowntakers takes place in a fantastical world. The game was developed by Boulevard and published by Kalypso Media. Crowntakers, released on AND, iOS and PC, is a production combining the elements of turn-based strategy and classic RPGs.
